VAT Returns

Accurate VAT registration and returns: filed through ROS and reconciled to your books before they go in.

VAT is where small mistakes get expensive fast. Ireland registers at €85,000 for goods and €42,500 for services, files bi-monthly through ROS, and adds an annual Return of Trading Details. We handle registration, scheme selection and every return, and reconcile each one to your books before it goes in.

What you should know

You have to register for VAT once turnover passes €85,000 for goods or €42,500 for services in any twelve-month period, and you can register voluntarily below that where it pays to reclaim VAT on what you buy. From there most businesses file a VAT3 every two months through ROS, plus an annual Return of Trading Details that reconciles the year. Selling across the EU brings in VIES returns, and distance sellers cross into the OSS/IOSS regime once past €10,000.

Rates matter as much as thresholds. From 1 July 2026 the VAT rate on food, catering and hairdressing dropped to 9% from 13.5%, the sort of change that quietly affects both your pricing and your returns. We keep the treatment right and reconcile every return to your ledger before it’s submitted, because VAT mistakes are the ones Revenue tends to spot fastest.
