Turnover limits in any 12-month period, in force since 1 January 2025. You must register once turnover exceeds, or is likely to exceed, the limit for your activity.

Payable or receivable
VAT charged on sales is owed to Revenue; VAT paid on purchases is reclaimable. The calculator nets the two: charge more than you paid and the balance is payable; pay more than you charged and it's receivable.
